So on days like today, Thanksgiving, do you ever feel like Alessia Cara in the song 'Here':
I'm sorry if I seem uninterested
Oh I'm not listenin', oh I'm indifferent
Truly I ain't got no business here
But since my family’s are here, I just came to kick it
But really I would rather be at home all by myself
Not in this room with people who don't even care about my well being
I don't dance, don't ask, I don't need a boyfriend
So you can, go back, please enjoy your party
I'll be here, somewhere in the corner
Under clouds of marijuana with this boy who's hollerin'
And I can hardly hear
Over this music I don't listen to
And I don't wanna get with you
So tell my friends that I'll be over here
Woo Here Woo Here
I ask myself what am I doing here
So if this is you I have a couple of tips to get you through these holidays:
- You may not always have a choice on where you can be depending on
how old you are but you have a choice who you sit next to, across from or
on the other side of. Soo stay far from the energy of those that upset you and be conscious of those you're next to. Choose wisely.
- Bring your A game, you can be that person who looks like they don’t
wanna be here, or you can bring the energy and life to the party. If you must be around certain people or environment don't to add to the pain and negative energy already in the air bring the good air. Choose differently.
- Remember we get to be on this earth, in this state, in that house. Many
don’t have anywhere to call home or family. Find someThing, someOne, someWhere or someWay you can feel most thankful! Your choice!
If you noone's told you today, I'm grateful for you!
